Hi everyone I’m Keith Hayes, born and
raised in Chicago, Illinois, moved to California in 1984. I’ve
been playing drums--or as I like to say, “keeping time”--since I
was about 14. I got my first drum set from the local pawnshop. I
believe those drums were made out of a wood substance, I’m not
quite sure. Some of my musical influences range from EWF,
Chicago, Toto, Commodores, Doobie Brothers, Billy Cobham, Dave
Weckl, BTO, Boston and too many to name. I’ve been in numerous
bands and ensembles. In recent years Christian pop/rock has
drawn me in. I currently attend Church at First
Baptist of Elk Grove. Through that experience I became a band
mate of Paid In Full, having played with a couple of band mates
there. So by God’s plan I am a part of this wonderful experience
with a great group of musicians/friends.
"The music business: music is a cruel
and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves
and pimps run free and good men and women die like dogs… There's
also a negative side"… That’s why I do this for the fun of it.
Drummers themselves are mysterious,
quiet, and hard to reach; they’re relegated to the back of the
stage, obscured by their equipment, lost in their own worlds.
But if you get close enough to watch them play, to see the beads
of sweat frame their faces, to see their eyes glaze over, their
mouths twitch and pucker, see them happily at home on another
planet, then you’ll know them intimately... LOL! !Peace, Love &
Happiness......Without HIM we are nothing
